11/18/2017, Fitchburg, MA – In preparation for their deployment to Wharton, Texas, Monty Tech’s Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Cadets took part in a training session that focused on the core skills needed to support their mission of helping affected families in the Wharton community as part of “Mission Texas”.

The training session was held at Monty Tech’s new Veterinary Science building which is currently under construction. Leading the training efforts was Peter Maxfield, a

house carpentry instructor at Monty Tech and the project clerk of the works for the 7500 sq foot building which is be being built by Monty Tech’s construction trade students.

“Mission Texas” Cadets, training focused on cutting, scoring and measuring techniques used with installing drywall. Cadets were also instructed in different aspects of environmental and work site safety.
